Welcome to Alva Beach Tourist Park
A friendly welcome to Alva Beach Tourist Park tucked away in the small coastal village of Alva and just a 15km drive from the town of Ayr and Burdekin Shire. We are located a few hundred metres at the back of the dunes of the beach. The park consists of 5 acres of tropical grounds with park sites and cabins set amongst coconut palms and hibiscus hedges. We offer powered and non- powered sites with or without slabs. We have En-suite Cabins that can sleep up to six persons or budget cabins that will sleep up to 4 persons.
Our park being coastal catches the great cooling sea breezes during the hotter summer months and our sparkling pool is a great spot to soak up the sun and cool off with a few laps.
We have 4wd access from the park onto the beach for boat launching, fishing and crabbing. The region is a well- known fishing mecca, with access to Barramundi, mud crabs, other estuary species and off-coast reef fishing. Alva is also the closest point to the world-famous SS Yongala wreck. Ranked as one of the top ten dive sites in the world.

We had just one night in those comfortable cabins, but it was very lovely. The owner was the nicest on our whole trip through Australia. The cabins were clean, the pool refreshing, and it was close to the beach and very close to the diving school. Ayr was little far, you need a car for that. A complete kitchen is available. Can totally recommend it

The park is 10 min drive from Ayr centre. 5 minutes from the lovely sand dune beach. The park is very clean and quiet and we had one of the ensuite motorhomes. It was excellent and very clean, TV and all amenities. Two nights of rest and chilling, perfect. There is a lovely swimming pool but it was a little too cold in September for me to swim.

One of our favorite sites, especially when it’s a quiet time of year. We were allowed to pick our own site. The pool is a real bonus when it’s so hot.

We needed somewhere close to the Yongala Dive Centre with a powered and unpowered site. Lloyd was really helpful, both on the phone and during our two-night stay. He even picked up some ciders and tonic water for us when he went into town to save us a trip. Smashing campsite with lots of space, shade and the grounds beautifully maintained. It was nice and quiet at night and a lovely place to spend the day relaxing. A gem of a place that we’d recommend with reservation. Thanks

Nicest owners so far, really relaxed. Pool was nice and the water was perfect for cooling down with these high temperatures. There was plenty of space, showers and toilets nice and cleaned every day. Close to Yongala if you want to go there. Would recommend.

Wonderful great staff from Management through to grounds and cleaners. Facilities well maintained and clean camp kitchen – the best we’ve seen. The pool magnificent. Highly recommended.

They advertise friendly service, which is an understatement! Our cabin was very clean and well kept. But what made our time at Alva Beach special was managers exceeding expectations – from the call to book our stay until departure. And it is perfect if you want to dive Yongala – only minutes from the dive shop. We can’t recommend Alva Beach highly enough!
